Online seller red flags before ordering an albo cutting?

I found a monstera albo cutting online that is cheaper than most, but I am nervous. The seller has nice photos, but only one shows roots and it might be from a different plant. They say it is a fresh cutting and will ship wrapped in moss. It is still chilly where I live at night. I have never bought a cutting this expensive online. What would you ask before ordering? What are your red flags?

Ask for a current photo with the date and their name next to the exact cutting. You want to see the node, aerial root or root growth, and the cut ends. Pretty leaf photos are not enough.

The node matters more than the leaf. A beautiful leaf with a bad or missing growth point is decoration, not a future plant.

Ask if it is fresh cut, rooted, or actively growing. Those are very different risk levels. I pay more for a rooted cutting with a visible growth point because I like sleeping at night.

Use protected payment. Screenshots of happy buyers are not the same as real platform reviews. If they push friends-and-family payment, I leave.

Weather matters. Ask about insulation, heat pack timing, and shipping day. A cutting sitting in a cold depot over the weekend can go bad fast.

Check local plant groups first. Even if the price is similar, seeing the cutting in person is worth a lot. You can also meet the human and ask how they grew the mother plant.

If the price is much lower than everything else, slow down. Sometimes it is a nice person selling fairly. Sometimes the photo is old, the node is spent, or the cutting is not what the title says.
